12 Deportation Protesters Arrested at White House

In a protest against President Obama’s immigration enforcement, 12 people were arrested Monday morning in front of the White House after they sat down and unfurled banners calling on him to stop most deportations. About 1,500 protesters, including many Latinos, joined the rally, the first of several anti-deportation protests scheduled this week in Washington. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh C. Johnson is conducting a review of the policy with an eye to reducing deportations.
